The "Zentrum zur Förderung des Nichttötens - Nonkilling Deutschland" (ZFNND) came into being in order to spread the idea of nonkilling in the German speaking public, as formulated by Glenn D. Paige in the book "Nonkilling Global Political Science". This happens e.g. via public work on the internet, via translations and later also events. Especially scientists, politicians, media people and other public workers are addressed with this work.
We support the goals and work of the "Center for Global Nonkilling" (www.nonkilling.org) autonomously and independently and help individuals and institutions for whom the global reduction of the killing of humans is a central cause.
Through research and art we want to attain new knowledge about why individuals and societies kill, why they don't kill, why they oscillate between the two and what the characteristics of nonkilling individuals and societies are. Our research is interdisciplinary and we collect and develop/edit the research results of others. Moreover, we support intellectual and artistic potentials, spiritually and through cooperations.
Another main subject of the Center is to bring to public consciousness the life and work of Petra Kelly (1947-1992) who plays a prominent role in the nonkilling book. Likewise, other individuals and institutions in Germany are considered that are mentioned in Glenn Paige's book. We also collect examples of people who are committed for a global nonkilling change.
